After talking with my brother today… remembered this campaign for AXE. I really like the art direction and the idea. Even though follows the same strategy, it takes me through a different path to get there. Hope you guys enjoy!

This commercial ALWAYS puts a smile in my face... →
I don’t know about everyone, but as the years have passed I have come to appreciate commercials that before probably would’ve never rang a cord with me. This campaign is one of those instances, where the product is not glam, the spot is not cool or edgy but it has a really strong message and its delivered well. Hope you smile too.
This is the first comercial I recall saying WOW... →
Shot and directed by a great fasion photographer, when I was in advertising I tried to shoot with him and just couldn’t make it work. His eye for the camera is amazing!!!!
You can see some of his work here…enjoy!!

another fave spot... this one from Cheerios. →
So this spot compared to others has no fancy music, no cool camera moves, exciting edit in fact it has copy almost wall to wall, yet the director seems to have nailed the casting and the acting to a perfection, every time i see this spot it makes me smile.
Nice film, casting and acting… no fancy tricks. cheers, happy Tuesday from NY.

OK, so not every single campaign has to be the epitome of creativity, for example the following campaign for Liberty Mutual. They are a series of ads with a very solid message and execution. They tell a great story and make a real connection with the everyday.
I truly think they are on the top of their category. Another example that crazy, amazing and unique concepts and executions are not the...

So the race came and went. Yes Mr Half Marathon you went down, unfortunately not without a good fight. It took 1:53 minutes and today a beat up body and an energized soul. Though on the good news, I was not the only Mexican in the race; in fact a woman co-patriot came in 3rd place (SEE PICTURE ABOVE). Cheers! See you in roughly 2 months in Brooklyn Sir… You will go...
Another fave car spot... →
Same thing n the early 2000’s Mitsubishi tapped a then unknown and now forgotten group / duo of Dirty Vegas.
A great song, a nice footage, edit… overall memorable and fun. Felt something for the advert, the car, the song.
Manhattan's Half Marathon...
Yeah… that will be me come Sunday. Hoping to finish under 1:45…we’ll see.
uf. After last nite, this is what I am craving.
Cheers, here is to Friday!
DRINKS
Tonight we are having drinks with some friends here… we’ll see if it’s cool or another meat packing vibe place… tell you tomorrow.

This is where I celebrated my 6th year anniversay with my beautiful wife. Great bottle of William Hatcher Pinot Noir. Awesome food, go if you get a chance.

No words are needed, simply enjoy.
Fave Spot: VW Turbonium →
The work that came out of Arnold Boston for VW I think is one of the best auto work that has been made. There is at least 1 or 2 more that are in my list.
Great music by FLUKE, great sound design, good script and a solid graphic execution.
Nice and simple.
Fave Spots: VW Cabriolet →
Anyone who has not watched this has missed on a lot. I don’t know if its the groups reaction, the vibe or the plot but this one really made a connection with me. There is something intrinsically familiar and nice about it.

The first one is this Gatorade from the early 2000’s. It is one of the first spots that the copy caught my attention. Vidsually I never cared for it much, but the message and delivery were great, and that is coming from someone with an advertising art director background. Hope you enjoy.
SPRING...
Finally after what seems an eternity the sun showed its face. Pretty sad when 56 degrees is warm. It was though a great day to work out side and pick some music for the campaign I am working on!!!!

Monday March 15
Ever since I can remember I have had issues with Mondays, specially rainy mondays. Today its been slow, more like procrastinating over this campaign I am developing.
Did not go to the gym, the excuse? I went yesterday. Music wise, still exploring Gorillaz Plastic Beach… quite amazing indeed.
